Welcome to my Dawn Contest page. There are around 500 photos on this page, so enjoy! Rumor has it that this was the last year for the Dawn Contest, so that's why there are so many photos from Brian and I. This year had a large field of over 50 contestants, and some of the costumes were really imaginative and eye-popping. A no-flash photography policy was in effect, so the photos were all over the map in terms of quality, but Brian's photos were pretty good, so you'll see most of his photos from the contest.

Here are a group of photos from some of the contestants before the contest, and faces in the crowd:
This year's contest was hosted by Sandra Taylor and Peter Jurasik. Amongst the judges were last year's Dawn winner, Joe Michael Linsner (creator of Dawn), and Ernie Hudson. Eva Hopkins was the other judge.

Okay, here are plenty of photos of the contestants (58 total), some of the contestants didn't stay on stage all that long, and were moving the entire time, so their photos didn't quite made the quality cut. There's no easy way to list these photos, so here they are in sequential order, with the first two digits of the file name denoting their contest number.
Here are the results of the judging and the eventual winner of the 7th Annual Dawn Contest:
After the contest, the contests are paraded up and over a runway, and this is pure photo-taking chaos as some of the contestants don't quite pose well, remaining in motion for most of their time on the runway. But there were other contestants who posed very well, and soaked up the camera flashes like plants do to sunshine.
This is mainly a collection of photos of Sandra Taylor by Brian, who was over-working his 10X zoom, it would seem. Heh. Brian has the same Canon S1 IS digital camera that I used as well. There were a few other photos of Sandra and Peter's interaction during the contest, and of last year's winner as well.
Feel free to email me.
If you'd like me to identify you in any of my photos, I'd be glad to do so.
