Welcome to my Dawn Contest page. There are around 425 photos on this page, so enjoy! A no-flash photography policy was in effect, so the photos were all over the map in terms of quality, but Brian's photos were pretty good, so you'll see many of his photos from the contest.

I had to take a bus to the Atlanta Civic Center, and it was was a little scary as you can see in the first photo. Before the Masquerade began, there was a nice reading of a story by a radio production group, and David Carradine was nice enough to read with the group. This year's contest was hosted by Raquel Gardner and Peter Davison (Dr. Who). I have no idea who the judges were, besides Dr. Demento.
The juniors division always has cute kids mugging the spotlight, and this year was no exception.
Okay, here are the photos of the contestants (53 total), some of the contestants didn't stay on stage all that long, and were moving the entire time, so their photos didn't quite made the quality cut. There's no easy way to list these photos, so here they are in sequential order, with the first two digits of the file name denoting their contest number. The big hit was Dr. Teeth and the rest of the Manical muppets. The other big number was a ghoulish take on a musical number from "Chicago". The contestant numbers are denoted by the first two digits of the filenames for the photos.
Here are the results of the judging and the winners from many categories in the Masquerade:
After the contest, the contestants are paraded down an exit hallway of the the Atlanta Civic Center, and taking photos is a pretty crazy exercise to say the least. These are Brian's photos as he was located near the entrance.
These are my photos of the rollcall of contestants, I was located further down the line and had less elbow room to try and get the contestants in my camera frame, but I perservered.
Feel free to email me.
If you'd like me to identify you in any of my photos, I'd be glad to do so.
